Summer fun for “cool kids”
Here at the family hotel Der Waldhof in Zell am See, young and old are always well looked after – with a wide range of activities, fun and relaxation. So that parents can also take a little time for themselves, Zell am See – Kaprun offers an exciting and playful Vacation program daily from Monday to Friday in July & August in the months June & September on 2 weekdays. Children and teenagers between the ages of five and 15 are well looked after and kept happy here: There are two different programs to choose from for adventurous kids.
- “Cool Kids Fun” is where things really get going with a variety of activities. There is a glacier family day on the Kitzsteinhorn, llama trekking in the footsteps of gold prospectors, a pirate treasure hunt on Lake Zell and a visit to Schmidolin the dragon, the Schmittenhöhe mascot.
- “Cool Kids Adventure” The program promises action and adventure for children aged seven and over, where physical challenge meets excitement – whether it’s archery, mountain bike riding technique training, climbing under professional guidance on the climbing tower or in the hall, or a fast-paced combination of hiking and downhill riding on the Mountain Skyver, a folding mountain scooter.
Our hotel is a Cool Kids partner hotel, so the vacation programs are completely free of charge for you.
Action and adventure on the mountain
Of course, Zell am See-Kaprun also offers plenty of leisure activities beyond the organized programmes – from swimming, surfing, stand-up paddling or boating on Lake Zell to summer tobogganing on the Maiskogel and a wide variety of hikes and excursions.
Kids aged six to 14 can test their racing skills in Austria’s highest e-motocross park on “Schmidolins Feuerstuhl”. Another highlight starts right next to the racecourse on the Schmittenhöhe – the adventure hiking trail “Schmidolin’s Baptism of Fire” with tricky stations for climbing, balancing and guessing. The Schmiedhofalm adventure playground also keeps little guests on the move, while the “Mystical Forest” hike on the Sonnkogel promises fabulous experiences for the whole family.
Leisure fun with the Zell am See-Kaprun Mobility Card
New since May 2019 is a comprehensivemobility offer for all guests in the region. With the mobility card, holidaymakers can use all public transport in the entire Pinzgau region free of charge and thus move around the region in an environmentally friendly way.
Our hotel is not a partner of the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card. At the family hotel Der Waldhof – families benefit from the all-inclusive offer and the exclusive free children’s program.
The family facilities also include two indoor playrooms for toddlers and teenagers, a table tennis table, pool table, table soccer and the outdoor playground. As a Waldhof guest, you can also make use of the free rental service for bicycles, bicycle helmets and child seats.
